Capuchin Diet Information

There is alot of information on feeding baby and adult capuchins. We will post as many variations as we find for you to choose from or to use to create the diet that works best for your monkey.

Healthy Diet For Your Primate
Basic Bottle 8 oz. of distilled water 4 scoops of Enfamil low iron baby formula (if you can get goats milk use it) (many breeder will reccomend soy based baby formula) newborn babies will only eat 1/2 to 1 ounce when you take it home. If you buy the powder you can mix as you go and alot won't get wasted. You can mix 1 scoop of powder to 2 ounces of water. Babies will eat every 3 hrs. 4-6 weeks (add to bottle) 1 jar of baby food rice cereal with apples and bananas 2 tbs. yogurt (plain) 3 months (add to bottle) (You will start using blender at this time) 1 tbs. ground monkey biscuit(approx. 2 biscuits) Continue to add yogurt Your baby can have other soft foods like sweet potatoes, mac and cheese and can nibble on a healthy primate trail mix to take when you are out such as; goldfish, cherrios, dried fruit, monkey biscuits, nuts, soft puffs (for babies made by Gerber) monkey snacks (found on the internet).
Stop feeding noon bottle 6 months (add to bottle) 3 monkey biscuits instead of 2 Start feeding primate diet. For Calcium-small bits of cheese, dairy products, (no cows milk) Start giving tums for calcium Start baby on a vitamin (flintstones or gummy) Increase solid foods Introduce chopped fruit, seeds, grains, and nuts(cut some red, green grapes in ½, give apple slices, ) (You will notice more teeth they are ready for these things) Always keep one unsoaked biscuit for teething Continue to add yogurt can be flavored at this time. Put the whole 6 oz. in blender add 1 scoop of protein powder to blender (whey protein powder found at GNC store) Keep fresh water available, you baby can drink from a water bottle but introduce a sippy cup and start training on the cup. It will take awhile to catch on. 8 months add protein powder (can be found in GNC stores) cut the amount of milk from 4 scooops to 8oz. of water to 2 scoops give 4-6 oz. of flavored yogurt in the bottle instead of 2 tablespoon instead of a small jar of cereal with applesauce and bananas give the large jar. Feed primate diet Stop feeding morning bottle (by this time their diet should be mostly solid foods) Continue giving your vitamin (flintstones or gummy ) Continue giving the tums for calcium Continue to soak monkey biscuits Start giving yogurt in different flavors 10 months Bottles are unnecessary unless kept for the bonding time they have with you. But you can continue to do 1 at bedtime. Continue with the monkey biscuits Continue with vitamin and tums Give plenty of fruits, vegetables, grains, nuts and dairy products make sure to give primate diet as your baby needs the protein. It is ok if you give your baby more bottles. Diapers We highly recommend getting diapers on your baby asap. Clothing is an option that will change your monkey's personality. The best and most well behaved primates we have ever seen have all been clothed. This is a proven fact! The bond and dominance you form with your baby when you dress them will last forever and will mold them into a monkey with an incredible personality and a very sweet disposition. Even if it is a diaper cover over a diaper and a shirt this will keep your baby in a position of letting you handle them every day and there will be no resistance to the process. Start this at a very young age, because it may be too late to start at 5-6 months old.
